Issues and challenges: active badger clans, watercourses, breeding birds, red squirrels, great-crested newts and otters, on site and/or adjacent to works
Licence requirements: Registration and simple Licence for water crossings and watercourse realignment, GCN survey under licence, Water Vole and Otter disturbance licences, Schedule 1 bird licences,
Solutions and mitigation: Pre-construction protected species surveys undertaken and exclusion zones established, toolbox talks undertaken to operatives and sub-contractors throughout projects. Review of contractors Risk Assessments and Method Statements. Daily and weekly reporting to client and monthly Environmental Audits.
